The research interests of Dr. Ghufran emphasize on the Integration of Synthetic Biology and Bio-imaging Technology for Clinical Diagnosis with Ancillary applications in Bio-medical Surveillance.
Dr. Ghufran Uddin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) at National Skills University, Islamabad. He earned his bachelor’s degree in MLT from the National Institute of Health, Islamabad, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology with specialization in microbial resistance, biosensors, and bio-imaging technologies from the Department of Microbiology, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad. He was awarded International Research Support Initiative Program Fellowship at the University of Tennessee (UOT), USA, by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan as an integral part of his PhD.
Dr. Ghufran has served Rehman College of Allied Health Sciences, Peshawar as an Assistant Professor – MLT from 2019 – 2020. He has over five years of clinical experience and two years of teaching experience in MLT. He also has contributed to academic administration by serving as MLT program coordinator at the Rehman College of Allied Health Sciences. Dr. Ghufran is a Member of Board of Studies of Iqra National University, and is also peer reviewer of several international journals. He is also a member of the American Society for Microbiology and founding member & Vice President of the Quaidian Association of Microbiologists (2017-18).
