Dr Ahmad’s research interest include but are not limited to Occupational health and Safety, Workplace Interventions, Health Risk Assessment, Disaster Risk Assessment, Environmental Pollution, Environmental Health, and Project Management.


Dr. Ijaz Ahmad is the Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) at National Skills University, Islamabad. He is responsible for supervising departmental activities such as academic programs, labs and skills development, including industrial linkages. He has several research publications, including peer-reviewed research articles, review articles, invited articles, and has presented his research at various international seminars, and conferences. He has successfully completed many projects sponsored by national and international bodies like Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, Korean International Cooperation Agency, UNICEF, Ministry of Higher Education Saudi Arabia, Deanship of Scientific Research King Abdulaziz University, and is currently serving as Principal Investigator on a project sponsored by the HEC.

Dr. Ahmad holds M.Sc. degree in applied chemistry, MS degree in environmental science, and a Ph.D. in occupational hygiene, along with various professional certifications and diplomas from national and international institutions. He has won many awards and is a member of different national and international bodies, including Editorial Board member of Journal of Safety Studies, USA. He is a certified Microsoft Office professional. Dr. Ahmad has over twelve years of practical experience in Health, Safety, and Environment in teaching, research, training, and administration domains. He is an approved trainer and tutor of the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) UK and an affiliate member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) UK.
