Dr. Usama Khan Niazi is Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology at National Skills University, Islamabad. He obtained his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Taxila and Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). He completed his PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics Modelling of Fire and Explosion in Oil and Gas Industries from University Technology PETRONAS, Malaysia.

Dr. Niazi has over 9 years of teaching experience in different countries during which He had the opportunity to demonstrate labs and deliver lectures for undergraduate as well as postgraduate students. He has supervised a number of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Along with the teaching activities, He has been actively participating in research and event management of international conferences. He has published over 20 peer reviewed research articles in international journals and conferences. He has successfully written, secured and completed a number of research grants.

Dr. Niazi has significant industrial experience with PETRONAS where has completed industrial projects related to development of risk assessment framework, modelling of fire and explosion safety in oil and gas, human reliability analysis, human evacuation modelling in high rise buildings and CFD modelling of dispersion, fire and explosion phenomenon. He has delivered a number of safety training sessions to PETRONAS staff.
