His skills and research areas include Design and Analysis of HVDC/HVAC Power Systems, Renewable Energies, Design and Operation of Electrical Machines, Design, Installation and Analysis of Grid Connected Solar Power Systems, Advanced Power Electronics, AC/DC Power Flow, Power System Analysis, Industrial Automation, Modern Energy Storages, and Hybrid Electric Vehicles.
Engr. Muhammad Moin Afzal is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering Technology at National Skills University, Islamabad.
He received his B.Sc. degree in the field of Electrical (Power) Engineering from Islamia University of Bahawalpur and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power & Control from Air University, Islamabad. During his post-graduation, he developed super capacitor-based STATCOM to overcome the power quality issues of a grid-connected photovoltaic power system.
Furthermore, Engr. Moin being a young and highly motivated researcher received funding from Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) South Korea for publishing research articles in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
Previously, he served as a Lab Engineer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Air University, Islamabad, and also at Islamia University of Bahawalpur (2020-2021). Where, he conducted different labs including High Voltage Engineering (HVE). He has also supported undergraduate students with their final year thesis projects because of his knowledge and experience in the related field.
