The core purpose of this short course is to produce skilled manpower who can efficiently and effectively work as per demand of construction industry according to National & International standards. In this course the students would have acquired the following skills:

  • Create detailed Materials Take-off (Concrete, detailed Rebar, Shutters, Masonry, Plastering, Tiling, Sand, Cement, Mortar, Finishing)
  • How to read construction information
  • Extraction of quantities from drawings
  • Create detailed Breakdown for the Construction Activities
  • Accomplishment of Bar bending schedule as per structural drawing
  • Cost analysis and estimation
  • Bidding and tendering procedures as per PPRA rules and regulations
  • Forecasting the project completion Cost

There are seven modules to this certificate program. Each and every module covers a different aspect that includes electrical wiring, installation of equipment and fixture, repair and maintenance home appliances, motors and generators etc.

Module-1

Demonstrate Communication Skill (1 Week)

  • Developing verbal communication skills including clarity, tone, and active listening.
  • Enhancing written communication skills through proper email etiquette, report writing, and documentation.
  • Practicing non-verbal communication such as body language and gestures.
  • Role-playing exercises to simulate various communication scenarios encountered in the workplace.

Module-2

Maintain Safe Work Environment (2 Weeks)

  • Identifying common workplace hazards and risks related to electrical work.
  • Understanding safety protocols and regulations such as OSHA standards.
  • Implementing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Conducting risk assessments and creating safe work procedures.
  • Emergency response training including first aid, CPR, and fire safety.
  • Practical demonstrations of safe work practices in electrical installations and maintenance.

Module-3

 Carryout Calculations & Estimates for Electrician Works (3 Weeks)

  • Basic electrical calculations including voltage, current, resistance, and power.
  • Ohm's Law and its applications in electrical circuits.
  • Calculating electrical loads and determining wire sizes.
  • Estimating material and labor costs for electrical projects.
  • Using software tools for electrical calculations and estimates.
  • Hands-on practice with real-world scenarios to apply calculation and estimation skills.

Module-4

Install Electrical Wiring (3 Weeks)

  • Understanding electrical wiring systems and codes.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and diagrams.
  • Selecting appropriate wiring materials and components.
  • Properly routing and securing electrical cables and conduits.
  • Terminating wires and making electrical connections.
  • Testing and troubleshooting wiring installations for safety and functionality.

Module-5

Install Industrial Electrical Equipment and Fixtures (1 Week)

  • Overview of different types of industrial electrical equipment and fixtures.
  • Installation procedures for motors, transformers, control panels, and lighting systems.
  • Adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensuring proper grounding and protection against electrical faults.
  • Commissioning and testing industrial electrical equipment.
  • Safety precautions specific to industrial installations.

Module-6

Carry out Repair/ Maintenance of Electrical Installations (1 Week)

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks on electrical systems.
  • Inspecting and testing electrical equipment for signs of wear or damage.
  • Identifying common faults and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Repairing or replacing faulty components such as switches, outlets, and circuit breakers.
  • Implementing preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation and record-keeping for maintenance activities.

Module-7

Repair / Service Electric Motors and Generators (1 Week)

  • Understanding the principles of operation for electric motors and generators.
  • Diagnosing common motor and generator problems.
  • Disassembly, inspection, and cleaning of motor/generator components.
  • Repair techniques including rewinding coils, replacing bearings, and refurbishing commutators.
  • Testing and aligning motors/generators for optimal performance.
  • Safety considerations when working with high-voltage equipment.
