Dr. Irfan Ahmed Gondal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Skills University, Islamabad. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a recipient of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz for his outstanding contribution to the Defence Production Industry. In this regard, he also represented the Ministry of Defence in the National Technology Council.

He has over 15 years of industrial experience in automotive sector. His main expertise includes Assembly line balancing, reducing the work-in-process inventory, and just-in-time production. Besides Automotive Manufacturing and maintenance, varied research interests in Renewable energy, specifically Hydrogen energy, Sustainable systems, Climate change, and carbon utilization, are to his credit. He is a strong proponent of Circular economy that is vividly reflected in his research work. More than 15 Impact factor publications, two books, and dozens of conference and journal papers are also to his credit.

Dr. Irfan carried out postdoctoral research work at Middle East Technical University, Turkey, and International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Italy. He has the honor of representing Pakistan in a number of international forums such as the Asian Productivity Organization at Tokyo, Qatar Foundation at Doha, and ISTIC-UNESCO at Kuala Lumpur. He is a regular contributor at the Academy of Sciences Turkmenistan. He won several prestigious awards during his academic career, including the Commonwealth scholarship, the Department for International Development Award, UK, and the HEC's IRSIP scholarship. In Pakistan, Dr. Irfan is adjunct faculty at NUST, National Defence University, Int’l Islamic University Islamabad, and UET, Taxila. He is also a NEECA (National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) certified energy auditor.
