biography

Dr. Syed Muhammad Hamza Abid Wasti is an Assistant Professor at the National Skills University, Islamabad, since October, 2025. He previously served as Lecturer in National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad from March, 2021 to December, 2024. Dr. Hamza also has experience in the public sector, having worked as Admin Officer in DHQ Hospital Bhakkar and Young Parliamentary Associate in National Assembly of Pakistan.

Dr. Hamza has business exposure by running his own business in Bhakkar, which allows him to connect academic knowledge with real-world business practices. He holds a PhD in Finance from CUST Islamabad (2016–2024) with 4.00/4.00 CGPA, where his research focused on Role of Success Factors in Overfunding and Firm Performance in Equity Crowdfunding based on Equity Crowdfunding Platform in United Kingdom. Additionally, he has an MS (Finance) from CUST Islamabad (2014–2016) and recipient of Gold Medal with CGPA 3.97/4.00. He has done MBA (Finance) from NUML Islamabad with 3.92/4.00 CGPA.

His research continues to explore financial innovation, firm performance in equity crowdfunding, role of social media activities in business finance, factors affecting investors’ trust, corporate diversification and firm performance and corporate social responsibility. Dr. Hamza is passionate about shaping the next generation of professionals and making a positive impact on their academic journeys. His focus in teaching is to create an engaging learning environment where students apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios. He is also dedicated to mentoring graduate students, helping them in developing the skills they need for successful careers.
