GB Ministers of Education, Social Welfare and Women Development, Secretary Schools’ Education with VC NSU in Islamabad

The National Skills University is an exemplary institution with ample facilities for training youth in conventional and contemporary skills. Moreover, the Vice Chancellor and his administrative team have assembled a high-caliber faculty and technologists ready to train Pakistani youth. The model developed by the National Skills University Islamabad must be replicated across the country, including Gilgit-Baltistan. This was stated by the high-level delegation from Gilgit Baltistan comprising Mr. Ghulam Shahzad Agha, Minister of Education; Ms. Dilshad Bano, Minister of Social Welfare and Women Development; and Mr. Zameer Abbas, Secretary of Schools' Education.

On their arrival at the Islamabad main campus, the Ministers and Secretary were briefed about the university's development from a ravaged place to a state-of-the-art campus with national and international accolades and recognitions. The Ministers from GB and the Secretary visited various skills training laboratories and workshops. Ministers and Secretaries took a deep interest in the IT and mobile repair laboratories. They were pleased to know that at the National Skills University Islamabad, young people have dozens of options to pursue their careers in almost every discipline, including electrical, mechanical, civil, and information technologies.

Ms. Dilshad Bano, Minister of Social Welfare and Women Development, asked about the possibility of training less-abled individuals in various skills/trades. She also instructed the Secretary of Education to work with the NSU for a possible joint skills training program at the GB.

Mr. Ghulam Shahzad Agha, Minister of Education, advised preparing an elaborate proposal for incorporating skills training in every GB school. The Vice-Chancellor informed Ministers about Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani's contribution to the development of National Skills University Islamabad. He is currently serving as the Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan.
