RESEARCH INTERESTS

Most of his research interests revolve around the diagnostic techniques in medical laboratories, particularly in the context of infectious disease (Covid-19, HBV, HCV and HIV) diagnostics. He conducted trials on Covid-19 patients to determine the efficacy of convalescent plasma therapy, the function of a certain nasal spray in prevention of COVID19, and the results of target testing. He conducted research on the clinical features of Novel Corona Virus infected individuals in Lahore. Additionally, he participated in a research that used rat models to study the carbohydrate metabolic syndrome. In hematology section he validated novel ELISA technique for Glanzmann’s Thrombasthenia.

Mr. Rana Muhammad Yousaf is a skilled health care professional in the field of diagnostic laboratory. He did his BSc. (Hons). MLT from the Sheikh Zayed Medical College, Lahore and completed his Master’s degree in Medical Lab Science from University of Health Sciences Lahore. He displayed exceptional competence in carrying out a variety of clinical examinations, including molecular, hematology, conventional cytogenetics, FISH and microbiological studies. He has seven years of experience as a senior technologist and has worked at Govt. post graduate medical institute/LGH/AMC Lahore, including Children Hospital Lahore, Institute if Blood Transfusion Service and Sheikh Zayed Hospital Lahore.

Mr.Rana Muhammad Yousaf is a life time member of "Pakistan Society of Haematology" and a Master Trainer for biosafety and biosecurity. He won first prize for his M-Phil research poster presentation at the 2023 Annual Heamcon, which was held at the University of Health Sciences Lahore.
