Her research interests encompass a variety of areas in the field of Linguistics. Her major areas of interest are Corpus-based Studies, Internet Linguistics particularly the language of social media, Translation Studies, and Discourse Analysis specifically of media discourses with a focus on Multimodality.
Ms. Zara Obaid is serving as a Lecturer of English in the General Studies department. She received her Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Sargodha. She further completed her MPhil in Applied Linguistics from GC University Faisalabad. Currently, she is also pursuing her PhD in Applied Linguistics from GC University Faisalabad. Besides academics, she is a young researcher with a number of research articles published in HEC recognized journals. She also presented her research work in a couple of international conferences and helped organize a few international conferences as well. Previously, she has worked as a Visiting Lecturer at University of Sargodha and as a Lecturer at University of Lahore.
