Clean Energy for Sustainable Future - Awareness Session by NSU and SOS Foundation

The National Skills University (NSU) Islamabad and Save Our Society (SOS) Foundation will join hands on 29 January 2025 to celebrate the International Day of Clean Energy, a collaboration that reflects the power of collective action and interdisciplinary dialogue.

The event promises to be a hallmark of intellectual discourse and practical advocacy, featuring prominent voices who have long championed the cause of sustainability. The former Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, now serving as CEO of the SOS Foundation, will deliver a keynote address. Her lecture, centered on the critical role of clean energy in building sustainable societies, will highlight the essential interplay between policy, community engagement, and environmental stewardship.

The celebration will be enriched by a scientific perspective from Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, the founding Vice Chancellor of NSU Islamabad. His interdisciplinary approach to the urgent global issue of clean energy will shed light on initiatives that bridge the gap between science and policy.

Under Dr. Mukhtar’s stewardship, NSU Islamabad is leading contemporary skills education with an eye toward the future. The university’s commitment to clean energy is exemplified by the efforts of its scientists and engineers, who actively formulate and advocate for practical implementation policies. Notably, Dr. Irfan Ahmad Gondal, Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and a recognized expert in renewable energy technologies embodies the university’s ethos of innovation and applied research. His contributions to the field highlight the indispensable role of engineering in transitioning toward greener energy solutions.

Events like this celebration serve as reminders that the shift to clean energy requires an all-hands-on approach, integrating academic research, policy innovation, and grassroots activism. The partnership between NSU and SOS Foundation exemplifies this event, creating a platform where science meets advocacy and solutions transcend the confines of laboratories and boardrooms.
